About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Engineer who is both strategic and hands-on. Ideally, you have experience in the early-stage startup space and are excited to jump between hands-on technical development and long-term product development strategy. You have experience managing multiple workflows and products at once, as well as overseeing teams towards a unified goal. You will be reporting directly to the CEO, and will be a peer of all other Co-Founders.
Atrio Sports provides a centralized scheduling and networking platform that revolutionizes the Sports Relationship Management Industry (SRM) by redefining the way we navigate the sports world. Atrio is currently pre-funding, with a near complete beta product. The individual we hire would not be expected to come onboard before we have funding (expected in late Summer 2022).
The Head of Engineering will lead ongoing software development, troubleshoot needs, anticipate resouce requirements (time, money, people), and communicate timelines to non-engineering folks.
You will have the responsibility to build out the engineering team, depending on the resources and timelines dictated. This team will include minimum two developers below you, and we do expect you to write plenty of code on your own. You will also have the advice and guidance of a fractional CTO who will be an advisor to the company and has deep experience in our industry and tech stack.
About You
Understand how to build systems that enable fast product iteration and are comfortable weighing trade-offs between functionality, quality, and technical debt.
Comfortable wearing product and UX hats
Ready, able to, and excited to jump in and take on a share of code and firmware development
Able to communicate technical issues with non-technical teammates
Entrepreneurial and ready to pitch in where needed (You will be the fifth employee!)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Generally awesome and good sense of humor
Requirements
A seasoned and ambitious engineer with full stack architecture and development experience—infrastructure, database, back-end, front-end
A leader, with experience managing and developing teams
Comfortable working in a small, but growing, team (less than ten full time employees).
Someone who loves sports and is passionate about improving the lives of players, parents and coaches
A business-oriented strategic thinker, able to connect business planning with the technology you create
Demonstrated ability to build technology products from the ground up and optimize mature products, balancing short term and long term technology investments
