At BrightAction we’re on a mission to empower people on climate solutions and help them take action at home and beyond.

BrightAction is a B2B SaaS engagement platform that makes it simple, easy and fun for employees or members to discover their current footprint, learn about solutions and take affordable actions. Our advanced calculator provides robust impact metrics and gamifies participation with goals, levels and team competitions and we connect users to share and support each other in taking action. Our platform provides companies or organizations custom branding and engagement tools to drive participation and make an impact on climate change.

We’ve raised a seed round and acquired key customers and channel partners. We are led by a team with deep domain and business experience. We have proven the business case and shown that cities, companies and organizations care about the climate crisis and engaging their communities on climate solutions and are signing contracts with us every month.

The Opportunity

We are looking for our Founding Engineer who is as passionate as we are about advancing climate solutions. We have had great success with our MVP and it is time to build on it. As our Full Stack Lead Architect, you will lead and implement the strategy for evolving our SaaS platform. You will design and develop a new framework for our current application that is flexible, scalable, uses cloud native technologies, ensures reliability, and can be deployed easily for new customers.

What you will be doing:

• Work directly with the rest of the founding team to design, develop and evolve the architecture of our SaaS application
• Grow and mentor the development team
• Design and develop new features from concept to deployment
• Build a continuous integration pipeline that enforces stability and scalability in code development

Requirements:

• 5+ years Full Stack development experience building SaaS applications
• Passion for solving the climate crisis
• Strong conceptual, problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience and interest in designing and creating simple, elegant and scalable applications
• Experience with React and Python/Django or Javascript/Node.js or similar
• Experience shipping mobile apps (React Native counts!)
• Early stage startup and lead/mentorship experience a plus
• Experience working with SaaS cloud architecture on AWS or Azure
• BS in computer science or related field (nice to have, but not required)
• Strong communication, collaboration and documentation skills

Full time position with stock options. This position is remote, open to any U.S. location. Occasional travel for team events required.
