About You Notion is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing Business Development Team. In this role you will be pivotal in our efforts to unlock new verticals and establish new industry partnerships. In part, you will be performing the following: new vertical discovery, prospecting, selling into verticals, working with marketing to develop outbound marketing programs and more.
Today, most of our partnerships are with insurance and other related companies. This role will be pioneering our future into new verticals such as: Home Services Companies, Mortgage Companies, Single Family Rentals, Single Family New Construction, Hospitality, Multifamily Housing and Student Housing, along with new opportunities you find along the way.
Responsibilities
- Research new verticals and conduct a gap analysis to identify optimal product/market fit. Develop new programs and build business cases for new verticals based on gap analysis
- Build out the Business Development pipeline and nurture strategic prospects through the Business Development funnel. This will include prospecting, discovery and pitching.
- Perform financial analysis and opportunity sizing for new verticals. Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (Leadership, Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Partnerships) to ensure alignment on new vertical opportunities.
- Evaluate commercial partnerships/integrations and tools required for unlocking new verticals.
- Frequently report findings from discovery with prospects to all internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Business Development, partnerships, marketing and product teams on deal structures and product strategy. This will include an ongoing focus on discovery around product / market fit.
- Deliver timely reporting on Business Development activity and progress towards goals to the leadership team and broader Notion Team.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of business development experience
- Experience with enterprise B2B clients
- Work in the IoT / smart home / consumer electronics space is a plus
- Experience with OneDrive, Microsoft Office, CRM tools and Project Management tools
- Experience working at fast-paced companies with small teams and large growth opportunities
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence at the executive level of internal and client organizations
- Demonstrated ability to clearly explain complex business and technical concepts
- Proven track record of exceeding goals
- Ability and willingness to travel to meet with partners (post-COVID of course!)
