Cure Rare Disease is a nonprofit organization on the cusp of scientific breakthrough, advancing customized treatments for patients with rare neuromuscular diseases who today are diagnosed with few available treatment options. We are searching for a Integrated Marketing Communications Manager to help us move our mission forward—and ultimately help cure patients—by raising awareness and funds through social media strategy, content creation and engagement initiatives. This is a highly entrepreneurial role and is perfect for someone who comes from an biotechnology & entrepreneurial background and has the desire to have a profound impact on the lives of people impacted by rare disease.
Role and Responsibilities
The Integrated Marketing Communications Manager will build on the growing momentum of Cure Rare Disease, strengthening our relationships with key stakeholders and reaching new avenues of support.
Responsibilities include:
● Copywriting: Brainstorm and create original social media content, and curate relevant third-party content, to tell the story of Cure Rare Disease and convey our mission—ultimately raising both awareness and supportive funds for CRD
● Graphic design and video editing to support sponsorship and partnership opportunities
● Measure website and social media analytics to track performance of communication efforts
● Community management: Uncover additional, mission-driven awareness and fundraising opportunities and partnerships through digital platforms
● Develop brand-right look and feel for marketing/digital communications, fundraising and events materials, using widely available tools such as Canva to produce finished products that are graphically compelling and on-message
● Work collaboratively and creatively with the leadership team to develop robust communications and marketing strategy
● Responsible for other methods of communications such as quarterly newsletter
● Develop and drive forward organizational communications strategy in partnership with leadership.
Job Requirements
● 3-6 years of relevant experience working in an integrated communications role in a technology or life-science focused company
● High level of independence, initiative, entrepreneurialism and critical-thinking required
● Self-starter with intuitive ability to think beyond the status quo, find opportunities to further our mission—and save lives
● Motivated candidate looking to make an impactful difference as part of a lean, nimble, expansive-thinking organization
● Intuitive understanding of the ways in which social media and design can spark disruptive change for science and causes
● Remote work, with occasional in-person events required
● Position is full time
● Attention to detail, visual instincts and excellent writing/communication skills
● Mastery of programs and platforms including Canva, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube
● Strong storytelling abilities; motivated to connect dots and uncover opportunity
● Tenacious, motivated to learn and willing to multitask as a team player
