Position Description
Satellite servicing missions require safe and reliable autonomous navigation systems. To fulfill our mission Starfish is developing the Otter space tug and the CEPHALOPOD guidance software to interact with and maximize the operational value of satellites. This position will support the development of the on-board satellite navigation component of CEPHALOPOD, relying on satellite operations knowledge, software development practices, mathematics, and expertise in estimation filters and/or Computer Vision.

Qualifications

• Must be a US person due to ITAR regulations (citizen, permanent resident, or designated asylee / refugee)
• Willing to work from Tukwila, Washington
• Engineering or sciences education or experience
• Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
• Expertise in Navigation Filter Design

Desired Experience

• B.S. degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or similar field
• Minimum of 3+ years professional experience preferred
• Previous experience designing and/or prototyping algorithm-based products
• Programming experience in Python and/or C/C++

ITAR Requirements
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
