About DocVocate
DocVocate is a VC-backed, rapidly growing healthtech startup on a mission to make medical claim processing easy for doctors and patients. Our platform is a first of its kind, universal claims automation solution tailored for any provider organization. The US healthcare system is complex, wasteful, and frustrating for both doctors and patients. The frustration stems from unnecessarily high costs and a lack of simplicity. At DocVocate, we’re giving doctors and patients an AI platform to fix that!
About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join our expanding team. This role requires the ability to effectively balance between people management, technical leadership responsibilities, and writing code. We expect this role to be 60% engineering management and 40% backend coding. In partnership with DocVocate’s leadership team, the Principal Engineer will work primarily with the CEO and Chief Architect and cross-functionally with customer success and sales teams. Additionally, there is a clear growth path to a C-Suite role.
What You Will Do
- Technical Leadership / Product Development
- Lead the development of services and infrastructure across all product features
- Participate in critical, technical, design, strategy and product discussions with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our vision into a tangible product roadmap.
- Develop and support various business-related applications that are using a range of languages, including, but not limited to, Python, JavaScript, JavaScript, PostgreSQL and other technologies as needed.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and influence our technology stack, strategic approach, and engineering roadmap.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify appropriate system architecture, features, solutions, timelines, and budgets for new initiatives.
- Design and build security into our systems and infrastructure to avoid disruption and maintain uptime
People Management
- Set the technical vision and lead technical decisions for your team to ensure the team writes simple, clean, and efficient code to create intuitive, beautiful products.
- Set deadlines, monitor progress, and resolve blockers to ensure deadlines are met for product launches, feature upgrades, and maintenance phases.
- Define key metrics and KPIs and implement them to ensure maximum productivity, quality, visibility and predictability for the organization.
- Communicate and support effectively with the various internal stakeholders on dependencies and schedule.
- Source and build a high-performing engineering team that consistently delivers high-impact work that meets our customers’ needs.
- Guide and develop engineers to attain their professional objectives for growth while ensuring the functional success for the business.
Who You Are
