Sr Product Manager - Platform

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Platform Product Manager is responsible for working with SpaceiShare executives, engineering teams, and other product managers to oversee aspects of SpaceiShare’s microservices-based multi-tenant SaaS platform. This oversight includes using industry expertise to create plans for future development, coordinate ongoing development activities, support delivery team resources working to implement the product, work with executive management and other team members to help realize the overall company vision.

SpaceiShare is improving the way that additional/ancillary income is made: disrupting a $42 billion storage industry by becoming the modern space-sharing platform for people and businesses alike. Our storage and parking marketplace allows landlords, homeowners and REITs to monetize idle space.

The idea for SpaceiShare came from seeing opportunities and inefficiencies in storage up close. Back in 2015, CEO Sarah Selhi realized that her relative would be spending $12,000 for two years of storage at a traditional self-storage facility. Not only was it a lot of money to spend on storage, but her belongings were worth a fraction of that cost. What if she had found a nearby home or building instead offering space? The cost would have been far less, while helping out a neighbour or neighbouring business. After all, why waste resources and land to build more buildings to store stuff while there are already existing spaces all around us? That “waste not” obsession became SpaceiShare.

Must Have:
4-5 years Analytical skills and hands-on data based decision making is a must have requirement
Previous experience in PnL management is a must have
Contribute to and help realize SpaceiShare’s vision for the platform to support rapid product innovation by robustly solving common problems at the platform level. This may include Authentication & Authorization, payment management, template management, consolidated message history and delivery, etc.
Own the roadmap and release planning for a portfolio of internal products/services
Works with engineering teams to identify common problems, develop solutions, and facilitate & advocate their adoption.
Participate in the software development lifecycle
Participate in product management from initial feature planning through to development and release
Oversee backlog management and prioritization
Collaborate with tech writing, product delivery, sales, marketing, executives, and product management teams
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and an ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in all client communications
Ability to influence others, build relationships, manage conflicts, and handle negotiations
Business management skills - understanding of strategy, business functions, metrics, decision-making, and workflow
Project management skills - ability to plan and manage successful projects, including managing risks, costs, time, and team

Nice to Have:
Previous experience as a business analyst is a strong positive
Usage of Tapalytics is a strong positive

We are currently remote, and will be back in office as reopening is allowed
