Software Development Consultant

We are looking for someone to join our team as a Remote consultant. Your main task will be change management (approx. 50%):

The Change Manager operates and maintains the change management process within a Java SW development project with a project team of approximately 25 people. This involves evaluating change requests, reconciling them in the CCB if necessary, and moving them on to development.

Tasks:

• Support of the project team members in the workflow of change requests and bug tickets (the ÄM is in direct contact with the test management (internally as well as with the client (regarding acceptance test).
• Regular status reporting to the project management
• Coordination of requirements regarding the change management process from the project with the customer's department defining the change process

Additionally, you will be Supporting configuration management (approx. 50%):
The configuration manager is responsible in the project, apart from the usual tasks in the surrounding field of the software configuration management, for the fundamental supply of the technical conditions for the operability of the project coworkers. In this regard, he/she is the interface to development, testing and system operation, knows the disciplines and has ideally already worked in these areas.

Tasks:

• Request and configuration (coordination with system operations) of the required environments (batch (Linux)-, database (Oracle)-, application server (JBoss 7 EAP)).
• Support and monitoring of the SCM repository (Git, Rational Synergy)
• Execution of SW-Builds
• Execution of Deplyoments
• Support of the developers
• Regular status reporting to the project management

The Skills we are looking for include:

• a knowledge of common tasks and problem areas of the change management process change management
• a knowledge of common tasks and problem areas of the software configuration management process
• previous experience in a Software development project (at least 3 years) and knows the challenges of implementing change and SW configuration management
• excellent communicator and team-oriented
• independent worker and being well organized
• Remaining calm and stress resistant even during high stress periods
• Fluent in German
