Tax Manager

Looking for an experienced tax accountant to be an integral part of our small cloud based firm! This is mainly a remote position but will require a minimum of 4 weeks per year in our office (Brooklyn or Miami). Our clients are primarily in FL, NY & CA. Our ideal candidate must be a self-starter, thrives when working independently and doesn't need to be micro-managed.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and review federal and state tax return filings for our business and individual clients (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, foreign filings, etc)
• Preparation of sales tax, payroll tax, city business tax and other filings
• Directly support clients with tax questions & research
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through ongoing communication and exceptional service
• Research and analyze tax positions in connection with preparation of returns
• Review year-end financials in QuickBooks Online for accuracy
• Occasional support with bookkeeping projects in QuickBooks Online
• Phone calls to the IRS
• Assist in improving our tax related systems and processes
• Miscellaneous administrative related tasks

• Must haves:

• 4+ years experience in Tax

• Proficient in Quickbooks Online, Excel, Google Sheets and ProConnect Tax Online (or similar tax preparation software)

• Bachelor’s degree

• CPA or Enrolled Agent is a plus

• Superior written and verbal communication skills
