PatientPartner is on a mission to empower and educate patients by providing personalized one-on-one support through relatable experiences. We are a rapidly growing team based in San Diego, CA and are looking to add a Lead Product Designer to the team to strategize, design, and build the experience of our platform.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has an entrepreneurial spirit. They have extensive design thinking skills along with the ability to create and maintain a simple and cohesive UI and intuitive, easy to use UX . They will need to be quick on their feet, be able to adapt to an ever-changing, fast-paced, growing environment, and handle critical tasks that enable fast growth. We’re looking for someone who is an expert in their field and is passionate about transforming the patient experience.
What You’ll Do:
The Lead Product Designer will be the first hire on the design team and will spearhead the product design initiatives from beginning to end while establishing the foundation of a design system and design process.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate cross functionally with the product, engineering, customer success, and marketing team to define customer problems and implement well tested solutions for the product vision, visuals, and experience.
Execute all design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering. This includes upfront research, developing the user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, high fidelity designs, and engineering ready files.
Develop and lead a user-centered design process
Test and validate hypotheses using user interviews, usability tests, data analysis, and monitoring user behavior to build better solutions.
Implement a design system within existing brand guidelines for standardizing design and UI elements across the platform.
Take complex problems and simplify them for best-in-class mobile and desktop experiences.
Analyze and measure the success of your designs through qualitative and quantitative data
Present your research, designs, or solutions to key stakeholders internally to drive understanding and consensus.
Strategize and lead future hiring initiatives to grow the design team
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of design experience or 5+ years of experience designing platforms using lean UX methodologies in a fast paced start up
- Previous experience building mobile first consumer facing products
- Highly proficient in design platforms such as Figma (preferred)/Adobe/Invision/Sketch
- Previous experience building social community and communication platforms is a plus
- Proven experience designing and shipping products from concept to launch
- Ability to switch between high-level strategic conversations to the pixel pushing
- A strong self-starter, operationally-focused; a problem-solver
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Desire to constantly learn, innovate, and stay up to date with industry standards
- Excited to be a hands-on designer and manage a team as the company grows
- 1+ years in a people management role is a plus
- A portfolio showcasing your skills
