Senior AI Engineer

FreightVerify is a supply chain technology company that provides real-time transportation visibility and business intelligence for global enterprise clients. Utilizing the latest IoT, big data, and AI technologies, FreightVerify provides a neutral platform that simplifies complex global supply chains through a common design language to leverage new and emerging tracking technologies.

AI (our general term for data science, machine learning, and deep learning) is the key technology that gives our platform its unique edge over our competition. This role is your opportunity to help build and deploy new AI products from the ground up.

AI Engineer is a rather new technical role at our company. You will be part of a team helping chart our AI strategy and define the problems we solve with AI. You will help build our AI development and production infrastructure and set our technical standards. To succeed, you must be an expert in building AI models and putting them into production.

Responsibilities

• Help set up and manage our AI development and production infrastructure.
• Help AI leaders and business stakeholders understand the potential and limitations of AI when planning new products.
• Build data ingestion and data transformation infrastructure.
• Identify transfer learning opportunities and new training datasets.
• Build AI models from scratch and help product managers and stakeholders understand results.
• Deploy AI models into production.
• Create APIs and help business customers deploy the results of our AI models into operations.
• Keep current of the latest AI research relevant to our business domain.

Qualifications

• At least five years of hands-on programming experience working on enterprise products. Eight years of experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in multiple programming languages with a strong foundation in a statistics-oriented platform such as Python and R and their ecosystem.
• Experience building AI models using platforms such as Keras, TensorFlow, FastAI, PyTorch, or Theano.
• Demonstrated commitment to learning about AI through your initiatives through courses, books, or side projects.
