Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description:
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be a lead design engineer responsible for the hardware design and development of Altrix Medical’s products.

Responsibilities Include:

• Designing and developing the company’s products by owning architecture selection, electrical design and verification
• Designing and developing analog and digital circuits such as power supplies, high voltage storage and discharge, batteries, low power systems, signal acquisition and conditioning, EMI and ESD protection, and micro-controllers
• Developing product system and hardware requirements and specifications
• Supporting verification and validation of hardware and embedded software
• Partnering closely with other team members (software, mechanical, quality, validation, manufacturing) to successfully bring the product to market
• Transferring design to production
• Supporting product in production
• Rapid prototyping through coordination with potential customer segments

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent plus 7 years’ work experience
• Must be very proficient in analog circuit design with demonstrated design experience and the ability to act as lead developer on key new design initiatives, including low power analog front-end electronics, ECG signal conditioning, low power system design, and high voltage charge and discharge design.
• Should have strong digital design hardware experience for embedded systems including microprocessors, microcontrollers, embedded peripherals, FPGAs and PLDs.
• Successful track record taking a design from prototype to released product, including functional verification and manufacturing support upon product release.
• Experience with medical product development utilizing FDA regulated Design Controls highly desired.
• Experience with product development in a highly regulated environment a plus
• Experience with hardware design tools (CAD, simulation), and bench tools (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes) required
• Experience in writing requirements, technical specifications, and technical design documentation required
• Experience with component and design reliability test definition and execution a plus
• Experience with worldwide safety and EMC compliance requirements and testing a plus
• Experience with embedded software development tools, ICE and version control software a plus
• Experience with real-time embedded design software a plus
• Experience with firmware development a plus
• Software experience a plus
