Background & Personality

• Previous experience as a Data Engineer, Engineer or BI Analyst.
• Experience working with a variety of stakeholders in a consultative fashion.
• Worked with a variety of tools to solve problems
• Passionate about data and the capacities it has to change everything.
• An analytical mindset with a love of problem solving or simply asking ‘why?’
• Can speak-up/challenge when they feel something could be done better/differently
• A passion for data (and tech in general!)
• A great sense of humour and not afraid to show it
• Open to new ideas, thoughts and knowledge

Knowledge - Essential:

• Looker & LookML Modelling
• Heap analytics
• Google Data Studio
• Google analytics
• Relational databases (Postgres, Mysql)
• SQL
• Database management, data modelling & schemas
• Google gsheet manipulation & scripting
• Snowflake/AWS (Redshift, Kinesis, Lambdas)
• Kimball Data Modelling
• Github for version control.
• Data Manipulation tools (Alteryx, Knime)

Knowledge - Nice to have:

• Knowledge of data regulations
• Behavioural Analysis and Consumer Analysis
• Knowledge of data governance and handling
• Understanding of Agile methodologies for ways of working
• Knowledge of data ethics
• Marketing segmentation & related analytics
• CRMs (ideally Hubspot) analytics
• Digital Marketing Analysis
• Python, Python requests library, Jupyter Notebook

Skills - Essential:

• Problem solving, Critical thinking, attention to detail.
• Solid communication skills towards juniors and upper leadership
• Be able to convert non-technical issues into technical requirements
• Understanding of data collection methodologies (from Structured and Unstructured data sources)
• ETL/ELT experience
• Understanding of Data Quality, Governance and MDM
• Data Visualisation including portal management

Skills - Nice to have:

• Understanding of Graph Databases, ideally Neo4J
• Cypher Scripting
• DBT Scripting
• Worked with Data Lakes
• DAMA Certifications
• Previous experience working with RESTful APIs to consume and publish data
