We are Detail, an early stage technology startup, born to bring video to life. We are going to help creators produce high-quality, engaging live video events. We enable them to create and share video that looks and sounds amazing, without massive investments in equipment, software, or technical skills.

We are an experienced team, building our second and third company from scratch. This will be your opportunity to join us super early and help us shape our company and culture.

We are hiring a mobile engineer to join our team and help us build world-class iOS, iPadOS, and macOS applications for creators.

Please note: The ideal candidate must be located between UTC-5 and UTC+1.

Your role

• Implement new features in Swift on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
• Review and discuss design and engineering solutions with your team, to improve our work together.
• Research technical solutions and new platform frameworks when appropriate.
• Prototype new features or interactions to validate ideas quickly. For example, add new themes to our video pipeline.

Your profile

• 5-7 years of experience building apps on iOS, iPadOS and/or macOS, ideally in a professional setting or shipping your own apps.
• You have a passion for low-level optimization, care deeply about performance and profiling.
• An interest in the inner workings of the camera and rendering frameworks.
• You test your code thoroughly before releasing it out into the wild.
• You have a strong set of tools to report, debug, isolate, reproduce and fix crashes.
• Great communication skills, both written and verbally.
• Fast learner and eager to level-up your skills together.
• Flexible and self-starter.
• Very comfortable with code versioning systems (git, svn)

Bonus Points

• You have a very good understanding of frameworks like AVFoundation, AVKit, ARKit, Core Video, Core Graphics, and Core Image.
• You know how to build low-level, cross-platform libraries. You can build fundamental building blocks for applications to rest atop of.
