Description

In order to strengthen their digital division, they are looking for a Junior Developer PHP Symfony to join the new team in Porto, that can help them continue building the product out. They have already rented out offices in the city centre (Regus - Porto, Batalha building). Fairwalter is looking for an experienced full stack developer with leadership and inspiration to bootstrap our new tech team.

As a self-motivated team player, you’ll work closely with your colleagues to deliver quality results and improve user experience. Ultimately, you should be able to develop and maintain functional and stable web applications to meet our customers' needs.

Responsibilities

• Full-stack development on a PHP, Twig, JS, Symfony, Doctrine, MySQL stack
• DevOps software development and operations lifecycle with a CI/CD pipeline
• Hiring and building a team, coaching of colleagues, performing code reviews
• Ensuring quality and stability, enhancing performance, initiating improvements
• Balancing feature development, bug fixes, maintenance and operational tasks
• Integrating 3rd party services, moving towards containerisation with Docker
• Leading design and architecture workshops, writing technical specifications
• Growing a healthy and fun culture in the team with leadership and inspiration
• Main requirements
• Forward-thinking, dynamic, technical software engineer and inspiring leader
• 5+ years of experience in PHP development, expert knowledge of Symfony
• 2+ years in a leadership role; curious and self-motivated, natural team player
• Deep knowledge of the PHP stack, proficient in OO and in database design
• Used to agile practices like Scrum, XP, TDD, CI/CD, Clean Code, DevOps
• Solid technological foundations in the Unix-family, experience with Docker
• Continuous learner, a good listener and presenter with strong people skills
• Fluency in English, good command of the language in speech and writing
