Objective:

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building and developing a world-class Data Infrastructure team. You will make sure the Data Infrastructure team delivers, and that their efforts have always exceptional quality, by setting up the right processes and quality assurance. You will identify new technologies to bring into the team to make them move forward and adapt to new projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop career growth of your overall team: from 1:1s to career progression plans, and working with recruiting to build the team.
• Provide technical leadership both to your team members and your product peers.
• Accountable for the overall success of the team
• Accountable for individual and team performance
• Set processes and quality control checks for the team to execute.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

• 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience, and 2+ years of technical management experience
• BS/MS in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent work experience
• Has managed exceptional coders in the past
• Experience with architectural patterns of large scale applications
• Experience working with recruiting to build great engineering teams
• Coached and mentored team members
• Shipped projects with multiple interdependencies across teams
• Fluent English speaking and writing (Spanish speaking is not mandatory)
• Knowledge of AWS cloud-based services (S3, EC2, EMR, etc.)

Plus:

• Experience working with BI tools
• Experience deploying Machine Learning models
• Experience working with Big Data technologies (Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Impala, etc.)
