Our clients have continuously been scaling innovative alternatives at 10x revenue and 20x performance replacing standard banner ads. ResponsiveAds suite of products take the "responsive" paradigm from web CMS to fluid creative design, ad serving, and cross-screen analytics to significantly augment high-impact display campaigns.

THE POSITION

We are looking for a talented senior back-end developer to be our first dedicated hire. This position will play an important role in the 2021 accelerated growth of ResponsiveAds and is primed for personal growth for the individual who succeeds. This position reports to the COO, is part of the lead product team, and will have an equity position in the company.

A perfect candidate is a great developer of back-end systems with experience in optimisation of scale and performance. He/She must be clearly able to develop the back-end system with an infrastructure of big data, analytics, personalization and search. He/She knows how to create quality code and is open to wearing many hats in the first year to get things done!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain AWS based infrastructure: continuous work on improving and maintaining our current AWS based infrastructure including managing scalability, security and data structures.

Development of new backend services: as our service offering broadends there will be need for new backend assets and systems, ranging from compute instances to databases and cloud platform specific services. As senior backend engineer you will by designing and building data pipelines and data models, building scalable backends based on the latest AWS services, deploying and operating data products and exploring new technologies.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or an equivalent degree
4+ years of experience in backend development
Good knowledge of AWS services, at least: EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda
Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, JSON and REST APIs, Linux, NodeJS, Express, Git
Some knowledge of big data (e.g. Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake etc), in-memory caches, queue and notification systems, load balancing, automatic scaling, monitoring systems, common protocols
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficient in remote working
Team-oriented initiative personality with a positive attitude and a love for the backend

“BONUS” QUALIFICATIONS

Interest in machine learning, and experience building ML-driven or algorithmic data products
Experience with GCP services
Some frontend experience (HTML, JavaScript and CSS)
Experience with elasticsearch or similar technologies
