Agritech Partner

Background
We are looking for a dynamic partner who can collaborate in building a large and profitable business in the Agri sector.

Support

1. We have an existing tract of 3 acres in a single location which will be provided for the pilot project.
2. We are also in a position to provide access to 25-50 acres in a nearby location.
3. We will also arrange for part of the capital required for the pilot project.

Phase 1:
Develop a pilot project on a 3 acre plot located at Khopoli near Mumbai to demonstrate how the return on per acre of available land can be maximised.
The intention is to develop a mix of open field and poly house plants with high revenue potential that can be sold within a limited catchment area.
Cultivation can be exotic fruits, vegetables, herbs or ayurvedic ingredients.
Limited use of technology - largely focussed on improving crop productivity and/or identifying better markets and prices.
Phase 2:
Extrapolate the success of the pilot project on a larger tract of land - 20 to 50 acres in the nearby areas.
The choice of crop and the catchment area for selling may be widened and can include exports overseas.
Extensive use of technology and connected devices to improve productivity. Also apply data science, ML and AI to predict price and demand trends.
Phase 3:
Expand the experience and acquire tracts of lands in different parts of the country to grow a wider variety of produce and target both the national and international markets.
Very extensive use of technology and connected devices to improve productivity. Also apply data science, ML and AI to predict price and demand trends. Technology can at this stage be looked as a profit centre embedded inside in the entity as a division or farmed out into a separate company.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare an Annual Business Plan
2. Preferably manage both the production and marketing activity in Phase 1 as a hands on participant.
3. Liaise with the suppliers of inputs, transport vendors and marketing intermediaries
4. Be responsible for profit generation
5. In Phase 2 and beyond the Production, Marketing and Technology activities can be separated and domain experts in each can be hired for each.

Requirements

1. An entrepreneurial spirit with an academic or family background in Agriculture
2. Agronomy background / awareness of regional farming practices.
3. Passion for Agriculture / AgTech and see the vision of optimizing a grower’s operation
4. Proactive work style with strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills and an ability to multitask and prioritize job requirements
