Big Picture Labs Ltd is an early stage Fintech product startup based in London. We have built (and building) bigmo(short for big moments) an innovative product(B2C) to help people better at their personal finances, leveraging behavioural economics and game mechanics.

Having launched the beta version recently, the startup is currently building a version of a loveable product and busy acquiring our early adopters.

About You

You are a senior full stack engineer or a front end JS engineer wanting to progress to Lead engineer in a fintech startup. You have the ability to work on React Native, React JS, Node JS. Experience on Swift iOS is a bonus but not required. You have already got experience in releasing apps to production at high frequency.

You will be responsible for building, testing, and debugging/troubleshooting our application developed using the React Native framework.

You'll share responsibilities regarding infrastructure and take the lead on continuous integration and deployment, as well as driving standards.

This role is for an initial 6 months contract with possibility for extension/permanent role conversion. Core Work Activities: Development: Supports development of features in Big Picture Labs products by understanding + translating project requirements, using DRY, SOLID + YAGNI code design principles to write code, review + test code, and troubleshooting open issues + bug-fixes.

Desired Qualities:

1. Ability to communicate effectively within the team. This is hugely critical for success.

2. Ability to work under pressure- this is typically a 8 hr job but can spike up depending on circumstances

3. Ability to work with evolving designs. Our design are 70% stable but you should anticipate 20-30% changes.

4. Strong time management.- more relevant for startups than big companies.

5. Ability to self learn with minimum guidance/intervention.

Technical Skills:

1. Advanced knowledge of React Native and its use in both Android and iOS applications(Preferred but not mandatory).

2. The candidate should have played a key role in the build and deployment of at-least a single application using React Native in the App Store or Play Store.

3. 3+ years of profession working experience with Javascript.

4. Multiple years of experience building high responsible web and/or mobile applications.

5. Experience developing with NodeJS (Bonus) Please note that if someone lacks experience in ReactNative but still has good experience with JS based frameworks, they could still apply.
