Operationally Focused Bookkeeper

Bulk Container Group LLC is a technology first supply chain optimization company. We have been operating in the logistics, transportation and maritime industries for nearly 3 years and are looking for an entrepreneurial and operational minded Bookkeeper to help us grow efficiently. The position is fulltime with core responsibilities including, managing daily transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, reporting and reconciliation. More importantly we are looking for an individual who wants to contribute to a high performing team and make an impact by supporting the sales and management groups by finding and solving problems, offering strategic advice and improving our processes. Our team is 100% remote/digital since day one and have grown significantly since the start of 2020.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
• Work closely with our sales and operations teams to provide necessary information and maintain accurate records
• Maintain documentation for accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, treasury and any other necessary backups.
• Perform scheduled reconciliation, including bank statements, credit card statements and intercompany general ledger accounts.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations, verify the accuracy of data, identify and correct errors.
• Support monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closings.
• Support in providing schedules and commentary with respect to operating maintenance reports and budgets.
• Support with ad-hoc reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends.
• Implement best practices, internal control standards and procedures in all accounting functions and activities.
• Keep updates on new accounting and taxation policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
• Protect organization’s values by keeping information confidential.
Bookkeeper Requirements:
• 2+ years of related accounting experiences
• Positive attitude and high energy for a fast-paced industry.
• Proficient with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Microsoft Office, Power BI, etc.
• Proficient with accounting principles and standards
• Fast learner and comfortable in a changing environment.
• Eager to learn and develop new skill sets.
• Communications Skills – comfortable interacting with everyone.
• Preferred but not required – experience the maritime or logistics industries.
• Good Problem solving and time management skills.
• Highly efficient, meticulous and detail oriented.
