API Automation QA/API SDET

Vertex It Service is looking for an experienced API SDET to fill a position in a team at Denver, CO. This is a hands-on testing position, which requires demonstrated knowledge/experience and understanding of all aspects of Software testing methodologies and tools. This role requires strong API and full stack testing experience. You will also be required to define and execute backend software testing, providing test reports, define test data for positive and negative test scenarios, and understanding of source and target mappings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Tests complex API, web and mobile-based applications that reference database back-end systems.
● Works with QA and functional/development teams to understand end-to-end system functionality
● Attending all scrum ceremonies
● Grooming backlog User Stories for both proper Requirements and Acceptance Criteria,
● Generating test plans for new and updated features from targeted User Stories
● Coordinate regression, system, integration, and API web services testing with Product Engineering and engineering team
● Testing & automating the scoped/groomed test cases or repairing broken ones
● Collaborating with dev counterparts to decipher issues/failures/defects while logging appropriately
● Performing/scoping performance & load testing needs on service applications
● Updating JIRA, ALM, and their team/stakeholders appropriately on all issues/blockers/ questions/ etc.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Technical Education Background, Bachelors in IT/CS or any equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience of Full Stack testing experience mainly focusing API Testing.
• Expert in using Parasoft SOAtest, or related API testing tool.
• Experience of Using Automation tools Selenium and Appium
• Hands-On Experience working with Dockers and Kubernetes
• Strong knowledge of Javascript for Webdriver IO or Cypress.
• Proficient in REST API, Micro services, Web services and API integration testing using Postman.
• Understanding of the key terminologies of performance testing like SLA’S, KPI’s correlation, throughput, response time, baseline, stress test, etc.
• Knowledge of workspace configuration using (Eclipse/IntelliJ, Apache Maven, Junit/Spring/Spark, Selenium, Webdrivers)
• Should have experience working in Test Driven Development Environment
• Experience in Unix/Linux Scripting
• Should have core Java/Python coding knowledge
• Should have strong knowledge of Configuration of "slave" machines.
• Knowledge of Azure blob storage and supporting tools
• Knowledge of JIRA for work item life cycle management
• Knowledge of Behaviour Driven Development(BDD)
• Proficient in testing data in import and export files, and submitting and inspecting API payloads, troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of software testing life cycle
• Good understanding of JSON and XML, schema validations, JSON and XML payload manipulation for testing purpose
• Good understanding of various HTTP methods, HTTP status codes and API endpoints for the purpose of testing
• Experience with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, to create and maintain automation and manual testing infrastructure
