About Boomerang: Boomerang is a technology-powered service that collects, stores, and returns lost valuables back to their owners. We’re on a mission to solve lost and found. It’s a really big problem and most people have a frustrating story about losing something and never seeing it again. We’re fed-up with it and we’re taking matters into our own hands to help people get back the items they love.

This isn’t our first company - amongst the three Boomerang co-founders, we were previously founders or leaders at successful companies e.g Shazam (acquired by Apple), Youtube (acquired by Google), TrueCar (NASDAQ: TRUE), Tatari, and YourMechanic.

Boomerang’s Front End Engineer: You’re at the top of your game professionally and you’re ready to tackle a challenging and rewarding opportunity. You’re action-oriented, which makes you comfortable with hard deadlines, chaos and ambiguity. You’re passionate about software engineering, specifically for the purpose of delivering high-quality, interactive experiences directly to end-users. You feel empathy, and a sense of ownership when a customer’s experience doesn’t hit the mark, and you take personal responsibility to improve it.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new user-facing features.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Provide website and product maintenance and enhancements.
• Ensure the technical feasibility and balance of UI/UX designs.
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
• Determine the structure and design of web pages.
• Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.
• Ensure websites are accessible across many platforms, including laptops and smartphones.
• Routinely test websites for ease of use, speed and other quality factors.
• Fix any website issues or bugs that arise.

Requirements:

• Strong believer in Boomerang’s vision of solving lost and found.
• Be a great teammate and team player.
• The ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
• Degree in computer science or related field.
• Understanding of key design principles.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GraphQL, and React.
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
• Understanding of SEO principles.
• Good problem-solving skills.
