The Role

Role

As an Account Manager for Total Accounting and Bookkeeping Solutions (“TAABS”), you will be the key contact responsible with maintaining client relationships and serving as their trusted advisor to help them understand their financial numbers to drive strategic business decisions. The Account Manager will mentor a talented team of Accounting Technicians, and oversee the monthly financial close process and other ad-hoc projects.

Job Responsibilities
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced managerial accountant who is seeking to have a bigger impact on small and mid-sized businesses and loves see their clients succeed. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Partner with a team of Accounting Technicians to provide monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close and reporting to our small and mid-sized business clients
  • Use GAAP principals to monitor compliance, accounting policies and procedures
  • Work with our cross functional team in cleanup projects, implementation and accounting process development
  • Develop reporting solutions including KPIs, budgets and forecasts
  • Work with sales leadership to identify areas of growth within the current portfolio
  • Support client tax accountants in the year-end tax reporting process
  • Coach and support junior accounting staff
  • Identify and utilize technologies to improve internal and clients’ accounting processes
  • Build and document best practices for standard procedures (SOPs) for clients

Requirements

  • Degree in accounting/CPA Preferred
  • 5 – 10 years of corporate accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and stay organized
  • Strong customer service skills and enjoys being a problem solver
  • Growth mindset and proactive attitude is a must!
  • Must be team orientated and enjoys helping teammates grow
  • Financial analytics and modeling experience
  • Advanced QuickBooks knowledge, including 3rd party apps (Shopify, RetailPro, etc.)
  • Advanced experienced with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
  • Loves learning new technology

Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with prior experience
