Software Engineer

We are looking to add a Software Engineer to our Software Development team. The Software Development team is responsible for building and maintaining internal tools and integrations, as well as custom applications for Deft’s clients. The ideal candidate is a full-stack developer with an emphasis on front-end development. They must take ownership of their work and deliver a high quality of code and functionality. The candidate must be passionate about software development and learning new tools. As a member of the software development team, you will be expected to engage with other developers, designers, and business analysts to create an effective and supportive working environment.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• Excited to work with the Svelte and React frameworks.
• 3-5 years experience with a front-end framework such as React, Angular, Vue, or Svelte.
• Knowledgeable in one or more of the following programming languages: Node.js, PHP, Python, Perl.
• Able to come up with one or more technical proposals for given a set of requirements.
• Comfortable working with business analysts and stakeholders to define requirements for a task.
• Understanding of automated testing and software quality assurance principles.
• Comfortable reading through legacy codebases to determine the functionality of an application.
• Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies.
• Excellent communication skills.

Bonus Points for:

• Experience setting up CI/CD tooling and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience integrating with S3, DynamoDB, Amazon Cognito, and lambda functions.
• Comfortable working with Linux/command-line tools.
