As a User Experience (UX) Manager, you will help define and drive the future of Postman’s user experience by collaborating with Postman’s Product team, collecting feedback from Customer Success team and working as a brand partner with the Marketing team. You will identify, improve and define the user journey to provide the best API development experience to Postman users. Our ideal candidate has a sense for clean design and committed to creating a simple user experience in a robust product. You are a systems thinker who understands how the product strategy affects the overall business.

Responsibilities

Product design is fundamental to our product development process at Postman. We are looking for a passionate design leader who can:

* Define team structure (UX Designer, UI designer, UX Researcher) and recruit top talent to deliver Postman’s next design
* Define design strategy and methods, UX and information architecture, style guides and usability patterns to drive efficacy. Benchmark and standardize UX best practices.
* Consult with business leaders to create design strategies (interaction flows, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes) that meet product success KPIs and user success metrics.
* Lead the team with qualitative research methods to uncover customer needs e.g. persona development, heuristic evaluation and contextual inquiries and quantitative research such as surveys, usability studies and statistics.
* Ideate and guide rapid, iterative conceptual design and lead team design reviews
* Navigate in a fast paced startup environment with prioritization across multiple projects
* Apply web and mobile accessibility design
* Oversee localization as Postman expands its global footprint

Requirements

* 5+ years of experience directly managing UX design and user research teams ideally with software platform and/or APIs
* Has successfully created customer winning designs across desktop, web and mobile apps
* Is customer focused, detail oriented and organized
* Is great with impactful product stories that can persuade and influence others
* Is committed to increase desirability, usability and customer value across Postman’s products
* Has a record of generating actionable design insights that have influenced product decisions.
