SUMMARY: Seeking an experienced leader (Software Engineering). Ability to build and lead a global team across engineering, product management, and QA. The company is an early stage start-up developing cloud-based enterprise software, to drive mission-critical decisions, provide technology, services, analytics, and expertise that delivers insight for some of the most challenging issues of enterprise customers.

REPORTS TO: Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be a key member of the leadership team.

WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH:

• Build and Lead the technical and engineering efforts of a global team of engineers, data scientists and managers focused on our efforts in productionizing artificial intelligence, data science, analytics, machine learning and natural language processing models as well as data operations. These efforts will encompass: Search Platform, Analytics and Scoring Platform (Machine Learning Engineering)
• Working closely with Research, Architecture, Security, Site Reliability and Platform teams to define the next generation of data architecture, search, machine learning and analytics infrastructure
• Creating scalable engineering management processes and prioritization rubrics
• Create a holistic data strategy taking into account our values of transparency, privacy, and collaboration.
• Ensure data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and available in a timely manner for external and internal stakeholders and in accordance with our privacy policy.
• Negotiating shared goals, roadmaps and dependencies with all other leaders.
• Build, Manage, coach and develop our engineering and data teams

CANDIDATE QUALITIES:

• Deep experience in leading data science, machine learning, search or data engineering teams that is able to separate the hype from the reality of delivering production ready data systems
• 5+ years engineering leadership experience
• Demonstrated ability to balance competing interests in a complex technical and social environment
• Proven success at all stages of the engineering process and product lifecycle, leading to significant, measurable impact.
• Previous hands-on experience in production big data and machine learning environments at scale
• Experience building and supporting diverse, international and distributed teams
• Outstanding oral and written English language communications
• A passion for people development, team culture and the management of ideas
• Experience with modern machine learning, search and natural language processing platforms
• A track record of open source participation
• An eye for product where you relentlessly put the customer at the heart of any of your strategic decisions
• Ability to identify strategic technology partnerships

BENEFITS:

• This is a position with an early stage start-up. No Salary is being offered at this time. However founder level equity is available. Experience in start-ups is a plus.
