Senior FPGA Engineer

Metaspectral is a Vancouver-based company using ultra-high-definition hyperspectral imaging and AI to detect features otherwise udetectable to conventional sensors or us humans.

We’re looking for an FPGA engineer with a passion to innovate and join an dynamic team.

Responsibilities
This role involves deep, hands-on technical work in a small, collaborative environment.

• Design FPGA based acceleration using VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog
• Develop system level specification and architecture
• Develop system level register specification and programming model
• Develop module level specification and micro-architecture
• Perform unit level and system level validation by preparing test plan
• Debug, root cause analysis & troubleshooting of complex FPGA design at full system level

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• 5+ years of industry FPGA/ASIC engineering experience
• Experience in running latest AMD Xilinx/Intel FPGA tools
• Experience in building FPGA based systems using VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog
• Knowledgeable in one or more industry standard interfaces such as AMBA AXI, Intel Avalon, PCIe, HBM, and DDR4
• Thorough understanding of digital logic design concepts, and multiple clock domain designs
• Good understanding of DMA concepts

• Experience with AMD Xilinx/Intel SoC based designs
• Linux device driver development
• C++/C/Python application development
• Yocto/Petalinux
• HLS flow
