Senior Data Scientist

Lotic Labs is creating the first integrated data environment for deep analysis of the water economy. We work with water utilities, financial institutions, and corporations to help quantify the value of water and mitigate the economic risks posed by climate. We start by collecting and organizing comprehensive datasets about water supply, demand, and climate, and then develop sophisticated analytics to assist decision makers in financial decisions involving water. The company is backed by Techstars, Clean Energy Trust, Imagine H2O, and technology commercialization grants from the National Science Foundation.

This is a fast-paced Senior Data Scientist role that covers many disciplines. In addition to familiarity with common data science tools and techniques, you will also apply domain-specific models for physical systems and finance. You will be tasked with articulating your findings in relatable ways such that a less technical audience can see the value in your insights. Excellent written communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for data visualization are key.

Responsibilities:

- Organize, structure, and document multi-disciplinary datasets in the cloud
- Analyze and describe spatiotemporal data, communicating results to stakeholders

Qualifications:

A bachelors and a masters degree in computer science, mathematics, or some combination thereof is preferred. Additionally, any publications, patents, open source contributions, or other professional milestones are helpful for us to get a sense for your strengths.
