Senior Web Engineer

Immersiva is a next generation entertainment company using cutting edge technology and interactive storytelling to transform streaming entertainment.

We are looking for an excellent senior-level web engineer to spearhead the continued evolution of the platform. They’re strong both in the browser and on the server, and can think big-picture in terms of the business, product, and architecture. They are a forward-thinking problem solver with strong collaboration skills.

The ideal candidate can jump into any part of our stack, and therefore will have experience working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as well as Elixir and OTP, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small team of engineers
• Expand on product roadmap initiatives
• Develop high-quality software design and architecture from backend to frontend
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
• Document development phases and monitor systems

Required Technical Skills

• HTML
• CSS
• JavaScript (TypeScript a big plus)
• Elixir/OTP
• PostgreSQL

Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of experience
• Demonstrated competency in making interactive web experiences
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical people alike
• Collaborative approach to problem solving
• Self-starter with a thirst for knowledge and experimentation
• Eye for detail and ability to turn product/design dreams into realities
• Preference for working with and tweaking experiences for the UI layer
• Strong software product lifecycle management experience
• The independence to manage, execute, and take initiative without supervision
