Principal Financial Analyst

MedeAnalytics is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to join our team. The Principal Financial Analyst will play an integral role in driving business growth and improving profitability by providing exceptional analysis; responsible for leading aspects of financial planning and analysis including operational reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and supporting business leaders and operational teams in all planning and financial analysis efforts. This position reports directly to Sr. Director, Finance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Forecast and Planning

• Develop an understanding of business and strategic initiatives through frequent business conversations with functional teams
• Accountable for managing and keeping forecast models current that reflects upcoming events, in order to meet monthly reporting requirements
• Collaborate with departmental leaders on expense budget, through providing financial guidance and support on budget processes and policies to drive key decision making, and consolidating inputs in a bottoms up approach
• Maintain three statement model that properly captures underlying business activity and forecasted financial statements
• Assist in market and opportunity analyses to help guide company growth initiatives

Operational Reporting

• Manage operating metrics reports that help business unit leaders and executives understand business performance
• Support with preparation of internal reporting and board reporting and development of sophisticated financial models
• Improve effectiveness and timeliness of reporting by continued automation and by understanding business unit leaders’ needs
• Identify key areas to improve both systems and processes that benefit the FP&A organization as well as the Company’s Strategic Goals
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis support as needed, in particular assisting leadership in developing financial business cases to support decision making

Personal Development

• Continue to develop skills in reporting and presenting quantitative information in a fashion that is easy to understand for readers outside Finance and FP&A group
• Develop skills to work in ambiguity and to lead initiatives involving multiple departments

Essential Education, Experience and Interests:

• BS in finance, accounting, business or equivalent required
• 5-10 years experience specifically in FP&A or financial analysis experience required
• SaaS technology industry experience preferred
• Advanced experience with Excel and financial accounting, planning and CRM systems
• Strong experience with driver based planning, costing and pricing models
• Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment with rapidly changing business priorities
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with business and financial acumen
• Strong understanding of financial statements, ability to analyze financial statements and a strong understanding of corporate finance concepts

MedeAnalytics believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000 USD. Please note that actual compensations for all roles may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, relevant work experience, professional achievements/qualifications, skill level, business need, location and will be finalized at the time of offer.
