The Role

The Sr. Director, Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for powering up Included Health’s revenue collections operation. This role will drive the design and implementation of a collections optimization strategy, including taking a comprehensive view of Included Health’s collections performance, identifying opportunities and prioritizing them in the short and long term. This person will also be responsible for enacting proactive monitoring to identify and resolve problems early, and work closely with the product team to ensure revenue collection best practices across the entire cycle.

This Sr. Director role will manage an in-house RCM team, outsourced revenue cycle vendors and work closely with other cross-functional teams to bring the strategy to life. In the interim, this role will report to the General Manager, with the long-term reporting structure transitioning to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) organization. This role is crucial in guiding the company towards scalable solutions that delight our patients and clients, as well as enable the growth of our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a revenue collections improvement strategy that takes into account every step of the revenue cycle
  • Partner with the Product team closely to prioritize the strategy against tech and engineering resources, as well as the member experience
  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure documentation of services provided meet CCI and other payer guidelines to support billed codes
  • Partner with strategic leaders to identify additional revenue opportunities from services provided
  • Lead the in-house RCM and Provider Enrollment teams as well as our outsourced revenue cycle vendor to optimize billing and collections
  • Identify and solve billing and collection issues in a timely manner
  • Partner with Client Success, Legal, Implementation, Product and Finance to maximize billings and collections efficiency
  • Operationalize new Payer contracts and changes to existing contractual agreements
  • Act as the Company’s subject matter expert in regards to coding/billing questions
  • Bring an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care regulation guidelines
  • Lead cross-functional operational changes/initiatives/priorities while being mindful of cross functional impact to internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish internal KPIs on end-to-end billing and RCM processes and set targets based on best-in-class industry benchmarks

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience within revenue cycle operations
  • Virtual care or startup experience (preferred)
  • Billing and/or coding experience/certification (preferred)

Competencies:

  • Ability to think strategically about – and prioritize against – the entire revenue cycle
  • Ability to use the right data and astute business judgment to make strategic, data-driven decisions
  • Track record of thinking outside the box to improve collections rates
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of industry best practices related to RCM
  • Collaboration with technology and other cross-functional partners
  • Ability to act proactively, and identify and correct revenue leakage opportunities
  • Means to prioritize and adapt to a fast paced environment and changing of priorities based on organizational growth/need
  • Ability to implement policies vital to maintain a positive A/R, such as a self pay delinquency processes, agency use and contract terms
  • Strong team leader who can motivate and coach a team and allocate resources based on priorities

The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:

Zone A: $181,000 - $276,025 + equity + benefits

Zone B: $150,800 - $230,000 + equity + benefits

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates based on their respective Zone. Below is additional information on Included Health's commitment to maintaining transparent and equitable compensation practices across our distinct geographic zones.

Starting base salary for the successful candidate will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include, but not limited to, education; training; skill set; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; business needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and alignment with geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and competitive compensation based on their roles and locations. In addition to earning a base salary, this role is eligible for a performance-based bonus. Details of the Annual Bonus Plan, including performance metrics, target incentives, and potential earnings, will be discussed during the interview process.
