Role Overview: As a Senior Backend/Data Engineer, you will lead the development and management of our data architecture, ensuring a flexible, scalable, and efficient backend infrastructure. You will work with a variety of data types, including time-series, geospatial, imagery data, and both structured and unstructured data, in mixed-tenant environments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Architect a scalable and flexible data infrastructure that supports a variety of platforms and technologies.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines for mixed-tenant environments, handling both structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure efficient management and integration of time-series, geospatial, and imagery data.
• Implement robust data security and privacy measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business objectives.
• Lead the development of APIs for efficient data access and manipulation.
• Proactively research and incorporate best practices and innovations in data engineering.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in backend or data engineering roles.
• Strong proficiency in data processing and management tools across various platforms (e.g. AWS, GCS, and/or Azure; SnowFlake, DataBricks, and/or Splunk).
• Experience with handling mixed-tenant environments and various data types including time-series, geospatial, and imagery data.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages, including Python.
• Experience with big data technologies and frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
