The position
This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as an Insurance Specialist, joining our Legal Team!
We are looking for a talented and eager person to lead on all things insurance within our legal team. As Remote is increasing its global footprint, every expansion to a new country brings new requirements with regards to insurances that must be held as an employer and as a service provider. We are looking for someone to take the charge - someone knowledgable about insurances and risk, that can not only advise on insurance requirements, but also organize and audit our existing insurances.
What this job can offer you
- Manage company-wide insurances, ranging from mandatory social insurances, entity insurances, and professional insurances;
- Audit existing insurance requirements and ensure Remote is meeting all obligations;
- Create and maintain company policies in line with the latest insurance policies applicable to fast growth scaleups. Monitor compliance with adherence to policies;
- Collaborate closely with the Finance, Tax, Operations, Payroll, Benefits, and Compliance departments;
- Lead on the negotiation, organisation and renewal of statutory entity insurance policies, liaising with relevant teams as appropriate;
- Process insurance claims as needed; and
- Develop and recommend product enhancements to help find insurance solutions for Customers.
What you bring
- 3+ years of working experience in the insurance industry, preferably with a broker or insurance company.
- Interest in insurance principles and how they can apply to scaleups.
- Creative thinker, comfortable with taking initiative and building/refining logical processes to improve day to day workflows.
- Team-player driven by excellence, good organization skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in a start-up / scale-up environment a plus.
- Writes and speaks fluent English.
- It's not required to have experience working remotely, but considered a plus.

We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.
The base salary range for this full-time position is between $24,000 USD - $81,000 USD. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
