Chief Technology Officer

Protobrand is on a mission to change the way the market research industry develops insights and we are looking for a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to drive our tech development. As CTO, you will play a key role in advancing AI solutions to our market research technology platform. We are looking for a hands-on candidate that isn’t afraid of getting into coding. We imagine a 50/50 split between coding and management tasks such as development planning and team coaching.

Role Overview:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will serve as the technology leader for Protobrand, overseeing all development of the technology. The CTO will be part of the management team and work closely with Research and Client Services teams to spearhead innovation of Protobrand’s behavioral science focused technology platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide strategic oversight and direction for our technology roadmap, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with Protobrand’s business objectives.
• Team Management: Lead, manage, and mentor our technology team. You'll be responsible for structuring the organization and overseeing our hiring needs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with other business leaders to identify opportunities for technological innovations that can provide immense business value.
• Developer Experience and Culture: Build and sustain a high-performance culture, fostering an environment that prioritizes teamwork, accountability, and a remarkable developer experience.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure a robust, scalable, and secure architecture and systems, including contingency planning and data protection.
• Research and Development: Keep a keen eye on emerging technologies, assessing their relevance and potential value to the company.

Desired Qualifications:

• Extensive Experience Working in the various layers of web application: Demonstrated proficiency in backend development, data, frontend, networking & Delivery, PHP and/or Python web dev experience preferred
• Experience developing and maintaining a production-facing PHP & Python application, especially on a framework like CakePHP, Laravel and Flask.
• Experience with AWS
• Proven Leadership as a CTO or Senior Engineering Manager.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technological concepts clearly.
• A proven ability to take charge and lead initiatives from concept through to implementation.
• A plus if you have experience or understanding of the Market Research industry.
