The Role

Homerenu is a renovation-tech startup based in the DMV (DC, Virginia, & Maryland). Our mission is to modernize the $450 billion home renovation industry by using technology to make it simpler to renovate. Right now we help contractors automate their sales & admin work with software.

About the CEO
Brad, the CEO, is a serial-founder with a wealth of experience in the home renovation industry. He started his career by building a remodelling firm in Canada, and decided that he wanted to play a bigger role in solving the challenges that homeowners and contractors face. This idea led to him starting and building the largest managed-marketplace for home renovations in Canada over the last 4 years. Brad was recruited by New Ventures in 2022 and left his previous company to pursue the much larger and fragmented market in the US. His goal with Homerenu is to apply his expertise to the American market and build something that can scale and improve the lives of millions of people.

Role
As the Chief Marketing Officer/Community Builder at Homerenu, you will be at the forefront of our community and brand-building efforts, focusing on establishing and nurturing a robust network of residential renovation contractors. Your innovative and creative marketing strategies will be pivotal in creating a vibrant community and ensuring that Homerenu becomes a trusted and recognized name in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Building:

  • Develop and implement strategies to build and nurture a community of residential renovation contractors.
  • Engage with the community through various channels, ensuring their needs are heard and addressed.

Event Management:

  • Organize and host events that cater to the interests and needs of contractors, ensuring they are compelling enough to warrant their time away from home and family.
  • Leverage events to build relationships, gather feedback, and promote Homerenu’s platform.

Podcasting and Media Appearances:

  • Host a podcast focusing on topics relevant to residential renovation contractors, featuring industry experts, and discussing Homerenu’s solutions.
  • Secure appearances on other relevant podcasts to discuss and promote our product.

Partnership Development:

  • Build and nurture relationships with industry brands (e.g., Schluter, Build.com, DeWalt, Hilti, Milwaukee Tools) to enhance credibility and trust among contractors.
  • Explore and establish strategic partnerships that align with Homerenu’s objectives and values.

Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy that elevates Homerenu’s brand and product in the market.
  • Ensure that all marketing efforts are coherent and aligned with the company’s overall objectives and target audience.

Content Creation:

  • Oversee the creation of engaging content that resonates with the contractor community and positions Homerenu as a thought leader in the industry.
  • Utilize various content formats (blogs, videos, infographics) to disseminate valuable information and promote Homerenu.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Experience: Previously built a community online or in-person and some experience working on marketing for a startup

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using marketing tools and platforms.
  • Self-directed and solution-oriented
  • Ability to bring people together

Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of the residential renovation contractor community and industry
  • Familiarity with podcasting, event management, and community building
