About Us

UBIKATE (meaning “find yourself”) is a way for people from Latin America in the UK to feel more comfortable, less isolated, and better informed about relevant events, job opportunities, and services, through connections with others sharing similar interests.

We are looking for someone with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and interest in being part of a Startup and having a big impact on its direction. The person will be ideally interested in becoming the CMO. This oppirtuniy is perfect for someone with a part-time or full time job that would like to advise and dedicate a couple of hours a week while we become profitable.

What will you be doing?

  1. Monitor a Marketing Strategy Development: Formulate a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's goals and target audience. This strategy should focus on gaining visibility, user acquisition, and promoting organic growth.
  2. Branding and Positioning: Define the brand identity and positioning of the company and the product platform in the UK market. Create a consistent and compelling brand message that resonates with the target audience.
  3. Market Research: Conduct market research to understand the needs, preferences, and behaviours of the target audience, especially Latin Americans living abroad. Identify key insights and opportunities to tailor marketing efforts effectively.
  4. User Acquisition and Growth: Devise strategies to attract and acquire new users organically. Explore various channels and tactics to increase visibility, reach, and user engagement. Collaborate with the product team to optimize the user onboarding process and drive user retention.
  5. Content Marketing: Develop a content marketing strategy to create relevant and engaging content that appeals to Latin Americans in the UK. Utilize various mediums such as blog posts, social media, videos, and podcasts to educate, entertain, and inform the target audience.
  6. Partnerships and Influencer Marketing: Identify potential strategic partnerships with relevant organizations, influencers, and community leaders in the Latino and UK market. Collaborate with these partners to amplify the platform's visibility and reach.
  7. Performance Analytics: Monitor and analyze key marketing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives. Utilize data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies, identify areas of improvement, and drive growth.
  8. Public Relations and Media Outreach: Establish and maintain relationships with relevant media outlets, bloggers, and journalists. Manage public relations efforts, including press releases, media interviews, and event participation, to generate positive media coverage and increase brand awareness.
  9. Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community among Latin Americans in the UK by organizing events, webinars, workshops, or other activities. Actively engage with users, collect feedback, and address their concerns to enhance user experience and build brand loyalty.
  10. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively across various marketing channels and initiatives. Continuously evaluate the return on investment (ROI) of marketing activities and adjust strategies accordingly.

What are we looking for?

  1. To be a Latin American living abroad
  2. Bilingual proficiency: Being fluent in both English and Spanish is essential for this role as it would require communication with both the UK-based startup team and the Latin American community. Fluency in Portuguese or any other Latin American language could also be an added advantage.
  3. Marketing and social media skills: The candidate should be adept at creating and executing digital marketing and social media strategies to promote events, attract attendees, and engage with the target audience.
  4. Cultural sensitivity: A deep understanding and appreciation of Latin American culture, customs, and traditions is important for this role as the events will be catering to a diverse audience.
  5. Technical skills: The candidate should be comfortable working with various event management software, video conferencing tools, and other virtual event platforms.
  6. Flexibility and adaptability: The candidate should be able to handle unexpected challenges and changes in the event plans with ease, be able to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  7. Passion for entrepreneurship: A passion for entrepreneurship and a keen interest in the startup ecosystem is desirable as it would help the candidate understand the startup's goals, vision, and audience better.
