Founding Front-End Engineer / Technical Co-Founder

Responsibilities

• Assisting in technical hiring, building your own team of engineers, and shaping our company culture from a technical perspective
• Find ways to constantly be improving our platform, including learning and building better solutions for video testimonial collection, automated editing, automated ad testing, analytics, and various embed features across platforms
• Co-ownership of product development, feature planning, and engineering collaboration processes across all parts of the platform
• Assist in building front-end features, video-oriented UI components, APIs, and libraries through development, testing, and release
• Work with our back-end engineers to provide seamless integration and connectivity between our front-end, back-end (via APIs), and AWS
• Managing dev ops, including deployments, testing, and security
  
• Improve and/or refactor existing user-facing applications and interfaces
• Develop and promote sound engineering practices and champion best practices for testing, tooling, and incident collection/response

• Folks who are going to run through walls to drive this company forward. You might not know how to solve every problem you run into, but you know it is solvable and you are willing to put in the time to figure it out.
• Passionate about video, language processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and excited about solving the largest marketing problem faced by businesses across the world.
• Independent and self-motivated — experience with side projects or libraries a major plus
• Major bonus if you’ve shipped products end-to-end before — whether it was in your day job or projects outside of work
• Good humans with a positive and understanding attitude
• Great at actively listening to other people and setting egos aside
• Honest, fun to be around, and cool to work with while getting the job done

Core Qualifications

Several years of software/product development experience:

• Extensive experience with modern Javascript/Typescript
• Extensive experience with React
• Deep knowledge of how to build a maintainable, scalable platform
• Experience with storage, compute, and hosting on AWS
• Basic understanding of building and managing internal APIs
• Dev-ops experience, including security, scaling, and deployments

Bonus Skills

• Familiar with WebGL, ThreeJS, Redis, Probe, Nest.js, Next.js, MongoDB, Umami
• Experience with RUST and working with custom back-ends
• Understanding of machine learning and/or artificial intelligence
• Knowledge of iOS and/or Android application development
• Basic understanding of how video encoding works, specifically FFmpeg
