Senior DevOps Engineer

About You
We are looking for a senior DevOps engineer - someone passionate about codifying and optimising our infrastructure and deployment practices.

As a senior DevOps engineer, you'll be expected to be an expert in cloud infrastructure, deployment systems, site reliability, and monitoring - and how to codify these various systems so changes have a commit history like any other code. This role will lead the team on best practices and future direction.

You will be joining a small, focused team of problem solvers, working directly with our tech-focused founders. That means a company that understands programmers, and knows how to deliver quality software. Being a small team means we can move quickly, and get lots done.

About The Role
This role focuses on managing our infrastructure, deployment practices, and coming up with creative solutions to our infrastructure needs.

Requirements

• Expert in AWS systems (IAM/EC2/Elastic Beanstalk/RDS)
• Expert in Continuous Deployment systems and strategies
• Expert in codifying systems to ensure repeatability and reliability
• Keen desire to optimise - improving deployment times, and general system response times
• Excellent communication skills to work alongside colleagues across all areas of the business
• Ability to be proactive as well as reactive to situations with a confident and determined approach

• C# 10+ (we always upgrade to latest)
• ASP.NET Core, EF Core
• SQL Server
• HTML/Razor, SCSS/CSS, TypeScript/Javascript
• ML.NET, Elasticsearch, AWS (S3/Route53/EC2/Cloudfront), and much more
• Continuous Deployment

As a DevOps engineer, you'll be expected to codify your infrastructure solutions, ensuring the millions of people nationwide relying on OpenRent have the best experience. Before OpenRent, it was normal to rent a property by visiting the high street, signing paperwork in an office, and paying crazy high fees - not so any more - and now we're working on re-shaping the industry so that in 5 years it's barely recognisable from where we are today.
