Staff Engineer

About this role:

Apixio is building a new team to tackle complex challenges and create cutting-edge solutions that positively impact the healthcare domain and our customers. The purpose of this team is to partner closely with internal stakeholders to unlock new capabilities using our large healthcare data sets and drive improvements to our existing systems by leveraging modern tools and technologies with a focus on simplicity, data extensibility and rapid iteration.

What you bring to the table:

• You are an exceptional backend engineer in Python or Java that may have some frontend experience with React
• Ability to work closely with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Business Analysts to understand their data requirements and build appropriate solutions and platforms
• Experience with technologies like Postgres (or other SQL), Kafka (or other streaming technologies), AWS products including S3, Docker, etc.
• Architecture and development of scalable RESTful services
• Familiarity with various approaches to security and encryption
• Experience in database design and modeling
