The Challenge

Orchestrating the delivery of thousands and thousands of packages on a daily base is no small feat. It gets even more interesting if you ship from multiple locations, always going for the fastest and most economic (and ecologic!) option.

As a Software Engineering Manager of the Platform Team, you will lead a of team of Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers who build and operate the foundations of the Urbantz SaaS product. The scope of this team starts from the cloud infrastructure automation and goes all the way up to the middleware and code architecture of our services. Your mission is to enable other teams to move quickly while at the same time enforcing best operational practices.

The Day-to-Day

• You will work closely with engineers and business stakeholders to build your team roadmap
• You will develop your team and support engineers to go above and beyond
• You will be a bridge between business and engineering when it comes to non-functional requirements related to the security, performance, and stability of the platform
• You will drive operational excellence and drive continuous improvement across engineering teams

The Must Haves

• You have a 7 years or more of experience working in a software engineering team
• You have 2 years of experience or more as a people manager
• You have a solid experience building and operating cloud-native products
• You have a good command of infrastructure-as-code technologies
• You have experience driving operational excellence

The Great to Haves

• You have worked with Kubernetes production environments
• You have scaled database deployments to support the business growth
• You have built and operated CI/CD pipelines
• You have built complex applications with node.js (or equivalent)
