External Reporting Accountant

Role Objective

The External Reporting Accountant will be responsible for the monthly consolidation of the SUSE Group financial statements in accordance with IFRS. This successful candidate will partner with the accounting team and various functions across the organization to complete all required internal and external reporting deliverables.

A key attribute needed from this role, is working in close partnership with the wider SUSE team, ensuring there is a common respect and understanding between this team and other disciplines, to ensure the team operate in partnership, understanding and appreciating the responsibilities of each discipline.

Please note, that we offer 18-months fixed-term contract

Key responsibilities

This is a role for a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is interested in advancing their career in the fast-moving environment of the IT/ software industry.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Monthly consolidation of the SUSE Group in accordance with IFRS
Production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with IFRS
Responsible for the monthly close of some head-office entities
Provision of appropriate reporting and accounting advice for optimal reporting outcomes
Development and maintenance of the Group General Ledger and the Group Chart of Accounts to ensure that they continually evolve to meet business needs
Writing of technical accounting papers around the key accounting issues facing the Group
Proactively identify improvements to existing processes or new processes to add value to reporting output
Supporting internal and external audit
Assist in M&A activity as necessary
Work on special projects when required

Qualifications & Competencies
This is a role for a highly organized and motivated team player. Some of the specific skills required are:

Qualified (‘Big 4’ or ‘top 10’ trained) accountant with 3+ years’ experience, with strong academic credentials operating at a similar level in industry, preferably gained in a plc / multi-national environment
Excellent IFRS financial accounting experience with a solid understanding of relevant technical accounting issues
Experience of the S4HANA reporting systems and the OneStream consolidation tool would be desirable (or other equivalent systems)
Strong written, interpersonal, and communication skills
High level of attention to detail.
Systematic and organized, with an ability to meet multiple deadlines
