We are looking to meet our new Senior Back-End Developer, to contribute to our mission of democratizing K12 Education in Latam.

As the Senior Back-End Developer for Luca, you will be working as a core member of Luca´s team and interacting directly with the other departments.

You will... have a very diverse role and will be working on improving many different components of our platform, including our web platform and potentially our mobile app. You’ll be working as a core member of the tech team and interacting directly with the product team, as well as providing guidance and assistance to junior developers.

You should be goal-oriented and keen to implement processes, automations and work with the best tools. You can work without any supervision or mentorship, but you don't mind asking if needed (after you tried, or asked father Google).

Your responsibilities…

• Work in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment and be involved in all technical activities within the team such as estimating, sprint planning, software development life cycle activities, code reviews, research, deployments, and documentation creation.
• Design, develop, deploy and manage complex microservices. Integrate the backend services with the front-end solutions.
• Contribute to an overall system design and architecture.
• Ensure software deliverables align with the technical architecture, development standards and quality practices.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security
• Deliver high-quality code to production; develop unit, integrated and system tests to ensure the code quality
• Solve Database (SQL Server) Performance Issues.
• Participate on a cross-functional team to solve challenging software bugs & performance issues

Your skills and experience

• 4+ years of experience in Back end development using Node.js or Python
• Experience building cloud native applications from scratch, preferably video hosting solutions or online b2c SaaS platforms with large number of active users per day
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps best practices in the context of building cloud applications.
• Knowledge of back end system design & architecture, data pipeline & distributed systems (Hadoop, Spark, Distributed Queues) is a plus.
• Microservices experience
• Cloud proficiency: AWS preferred

Preferences

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Having experience with video platforms is a plus.
