Sparcs is the most social health & fitness app, building on the power of social engagement to help everyone achieve a more active lifestyle. We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Backend Developer to join our interdisciplinary team and co-create a unique app experience. Your primary responsibilities include (1) integrating third party APIs, (2) improving our software architecture, (3) building scalable, fault tolerant backend services with java, as well as (4) managing the backend infrastructure with Azure.

Ideally, you

• Care deeply about your craft, down to every last detail
• Participate in conceptualizing and implementing new features
• Stay up-to-date on the latest and greatest coding principles and trends — and can translate them into exceptional work
• Have 4+ years professional experience with backend development
• Are proficient with our current tech stack: Java, Spring, JPA/Hibernate
• Enjoy working closely together in an agile team
• Have the willingness to improve yourself, the team, and the workflow towards excellence
• Bonus (but not necessary): Experience with Docker, TDD, and React
