Chef Koochooloo is an American Startup focused on creating content for children. We wish to introduce AI-empowered components to our gamified technology platform and curriculum, aligned with national educational standards for K-6, which teaches kids STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) through healthy cooking. We also have a number of books we are working on publishing.
We are currently seeking a new colleague for our Communications needs. The person will create ouronline communications. He or she will be expected to develop new content and contribute to our digital and social media programme involving all our stakeholders.
This is a great opportunity for an all-around communications professional with excellent copywriting and storytelling skills, good knowledge in Memoirs, Children's stories, and a passion for K-5education and research issues.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position covers the following responsibilities:
- Create the press activities, media contacts, lead publication dissemination and contribute to our communications strategy;
- Develop compelling communications content on all our digital channels, including news items and materials main policy issues, publications and events;
- Write and edit engaging content such as editorials for staff and board members, blog posts, social media campaigns, newsletters, memoir, and annual report;
- Collaborate closely with other colleagues to contribute to social media relations with other public affairs initiatives;
- Contribute to our websites SEO strategy and social media outreach to support our sales, online events and subscriptions drives;
- Ensure relevant media monitoring.
BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, competencies and personal qualities:
At least five years’ experience in communications and editing, preferably including experience in relation to education or research policies. Experience in journalism and/or media relations would be especially appreciated;
Impeccable English copywriting and editing skills;
Strong storytelling skills, accuracy and attention to detail;
In-depth understanding of social media channels, the digital landscape and new communications trends;
Fully proficiency in applying SEO principles for websites and in publishing content on Twitter and LinkedIn;
Experience in podcasting, shooting and editing videos is a plus;
University degree preferably in journalism, communications or political sciences;
Strong project management and organisational skills;
Highly collaborative with strong teamworking spirit.
