Senior Software Enginneer

Overview

Strapt Vending is a rapidly growing startup based in Atlanta, GA. Backed by Create-X and Outlander Labs, Strapt was launched in May of 2020 to afford women an easier way to access high-quality personal products in a pinch while helping brands grow their reach through deep customer insights and analytics. We make battery-powered, wireless-connected vending machines and build the software to manage our fleet. Our devices are elegant and portable (not your clunky soda machines), designed to provide care and engage people in meaningful ways.

We’re looking for a full-time, Senior Software Engineer to join our team to help us take our current fleet of MVP dispensers – along with the mobile app, admin tools, and firmware – to the next level so that we can reliably manage thousands of machines in our next phase of growth. This includes building out our admin and analytics tools to 1) better serve and manage our relationship with users, 2) report on dispenser health, and 3) grow our partnerships with the brands that choose Strapt to deliver their products.

On the software side, we are all Google: with Flutter, Firebase, Google Cloud IoT, Cloud Functions and more.

Your Role

Our ideal candidate has experience building admin dashboards, working with large amounts of data, and loves working with Flutter and Google Cloud Platform. Specifically, you will:

• Build out our admin tool using Flutter on the front-end and TypeScript & Firebase libraries on the backend.
• Integrate our admin tool with other GCP services like BigQuery and Google Analytics. We want this product to be a comprehensive dashboard that allows for quick insights of our most important metrics.
• Develop automated testing and a CI process for deployment to help prevent errors reaching our users.
• Enhance and optimize our mobile app.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years professional software development experience, preferably mobile apps with a cloud backend. Example projects are a must (preferably Flutter and React Native, iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin are okay, too)
• 2+ years experience building dashboards
• 2+ years experience in Google Cloud Platform
• Excellent communication skills are a must, and experience with estimating and managing project tasks is important, too
• Highly driven, naturally curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Experience in analytics, data science, and/or machine learning
• Proficiency in running queries against data (preferably with Google BigQuery or SQL)
• Familiarity or experience with IoT, embedded devices
