The Role

Vlogmi is looking for a CFO to help lead the company’s next stage of growth.

We are currently in Beta, launching in new markets and positioning ourselves as the leader of a healthier, authentic, non-data-driven social media with the infrastructure to support it.

There is also a unique opportunity for the right individual with exceptional personality, track record and resources to be offered the ability to ‘Buy In’ to a significant Founders share in the company as a start-up equity partner.

This senior executive position provides a challenging opportunity to grow a company from start-up to industry standard. The star candidate will be part of the launch team for Vlogmi, a game changing social media platform destined to become a decacorn company bringing a healthier social media experience to its users around the globe.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

i. This key member of our management team will partner closely with our CEO, board and management team to help accelerate Vlogmi’s growth, and lead the financial strategy and operations as Vlogmi scales.

ii. Leading functions such as financial planning, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and liaising with investors to secure funding.

iii. You will track and manage metrics such as cash flow, in order to optimize the company’s performance against company-wide goals.

iv. As a leader, it’s important to be a self-starter, have self-awareness of your limitations, take accountability, and be able to build high-performing teams.

v. Learning, growth and mastering relationships are key to achieving and succeeding in this leadership role.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

i. As the company's top financial expert and peer partner on the executive management team, you are responsible for presenting a clear and professional vision of Vlogmi’s financial status to the Board and to our investors and regulators.

ii. Lead and grow a high performing team that takes ownership of all financial and accounting functions, including financial modeling, multi-year forecasting, analysis, budgeting, accounting, management of receivables and payables, purchasing process, payroll and expense management, cash and currency management, tax (domestic and international) compliance and strategy, and cost allocations.

iii. Inter-company reporting and compliance including transfer pricing and cost plus agreements.

iv. Optimize data and financial workflows that will drive operational efficiency across the team.

v. Be a true thought leader who engages authoritatively across all levels of the organization.

vi. Partner with the Vlogmi executive team in decision-making as it relates to strategic initiatives and operational models with a strong focus on revenue growth and profitability.

vii. Evaluate and advise on the impact of short and long-term planning and implementation of new strategies.

viii. Lead board conversations related to corporate governance, financial strategy, performance and results.

ix. Execute product and operation strategies to hit the right KPIs over the next 24 months, constantly align with the key initiatives of the team.

x. Encourage employees to instead see the value in new ways of doing things, to support the strength and longevity of the business

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Note: we value ambition and attitude over experience.

i. This role reports directly to Vlogmi’s Chief Executive Officer and can be based in any of the “Texas Triangle” cities (Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin).

ii. Have been a startup CFO or VP of finance for 4 years minimum, ideally in the consumer mobile application or SaaS industries.’

iii. Demonstrated success fundraising for a growing company through Series A and beyond. Proven experience leading debt and equity financing and negotiating exits.

iv. Strong communication, analytical, research, and presentation skills.

v. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management while at the same time able to work independently.

vi. Strong priority management skills.

vii. Strong analytical skills and a data driven mindset.

viii. Knowledge of computer information systems to present financial information.

ix. Ability to prepare statistical reports and analyze financial reports.

x. You have worked in a fast-paced environment or fast-growing startup that required you to solve complex problems effectively.

xi. Ability to think on your feet to creatively solve any problem and an appetite to take on a variety of tasks.

xii. You're a self-starter and excited to continuously learn and be challenged.

xiii. Comfort working in a high growth, constantly changing environment.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

i. You’ll be a 'force multiplier' to the CEO, helping the planning and execution of a wide variety of projects and processes, involving strategy, operations, and ad hoc 'special projects’.

ii. You’ll be a cross-functional team member and support day-to-day operations of the company; willing to “roll up sleeves” with a “no task is too small” mentality.

iii. Own critical projects from end-to-end while working with our legal, accounting, HR, product and engineering teams. You will have autonomy over your projects with support from the team when you need it.

iv. Proactively identify problems ahead of time and help lead the team to solve those problems. High energy and a bias towards action are a must.
