Senior/Staff Software Engineer

We're a funded, seed-stage company building out the core engineering team and future leaders of the company!

The Role:
Dodgeball is looking for an experienced, product-minded software engineer to join our early stage team of founders. You will work across the stack and put your stamp on the product and platform from its earliest days. The product you build will be tested, elegant, fast, cleanly architected, and a joy to develop. This role requires deep technical expertise, empathy for your users and engineer partners, vision for what might be, and the independence necessary to deliver rapid iteration of the product.

What You'll Do:

• Work with a small and deeply-experienced team of engineers.
• Develop for the browser and make elegant software products that address complex problems.
• Collaborate on the design, implementation, deployment, and operations of Dodgeball’s platform and user experience.
• Be hands-on with testing, deployments, and monitoring.
• Establish and nurture practices that make software engineering easy, rapid, and fun!
• Write documentation for your solutions in the team wiki.

About You:

• 4+ years building elegant and robust software products for the web
• At least 4 years experience writing server-side software in a strongly-typed language.
• A Bachelors Degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• Deep experience building robust APIs and clean architectures for web products.
• Experience and love of solving complex problems in a practical, simple manner.
• Comfortable developing with a breadth of storage and database systems.
• Passionate about product development, technical quality and how these affect your customers.
• Eager for and excited about the independence, opportunity, and responsibility of a startup environment.
• Strong perspective on security principles in software development.

Bonus Points:

• Experience developing systems that worked with large amounts of customer-provided data.
