We're hiring a Senior Associate of Events to support the creation and execution of our editorial events, including in-person and virtual. Voted Hottest in Virtual Events in 2020 by AdWeek, we will continue to produce best-in-class content and stay on top of industry trends for our newsworthy events capturing audiences across the country.

Go deeper: Production is what makes events happen. The Senior Associate of Events will support all Axios event productions. They will report to the Director of Events and will assist in the production operations for 2-3 Axios virtual events per week. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Writing and creating lower thirds
  • Creating run of shows
  • Producing recorded segments
  • Coordinating with production vendors
  • Assisting with back-of-house and event production operations for 1-2 in-person events per week including managing the on-site camera and livestream elements
  • Serving as a liaison with production vendors, stage-management, and technical direction during events
  • Creating, managing, and implementing logistical documents (tick-tocks, build and load-in schedules, briefings, etc.)

The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial and creative spirit, a passion for Axios’ mission, maintain a high-level of excellence and have the following skills:

  • 1-3 years of relevant event production experience
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Experience with stage management and producing a live, open press event
  • Demonstrated production and digital skills
  • An understanding of the current digital landscape of live streaming, virtual event space and platforms
  • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Experience tracking event expenses and managing budgets is a plus
  • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in high-pressure environment
  • Desire to work hard, learn new skills and grow professionally
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time once in person events resume
  • Ability to work early mornings and late nights
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
