Product Ideation

• Identify opportunities for new products based on market trends and customer needs
• Analyze how a new product feature ties to emerging consumer preferences and contrasts with competitor product features
• Co-create product briefs based on business requirements and translate product briefs into product design requirements
• Synthesize the brand aesthetic and translate it into appropriate and delightful product designs

*Product Design *

• Design both individual products and whole collections and categories around coherent themes, functions, and/or prices
• Translate product briefs into product designs and preliminary specs, with a strong sense of feature definition and visually attractive aesthetics
• Create visual assets on paper or digitally throughout the entire design and development process: sketching, creating illustrations, renderings and detailed design drawings
• Research innovative materials and manufacturing techniques

Product Development

• Join a multi-disciplinary Product Development Team who are collectively responsible for defining the Hush Home product vision and developing and building our growing family of award-winning products
• Participate in the entire development process, from design research and initial insights through form definition, feature development, CMF details and the creation of detailed documentation for production
• Create and test prototypes for functionality, durability and visual aesthetic
• Collaborate across other functions within the company to ensure an inspiring customer experience with our products (Supply Chain, Marketing, Creative, Sales, Customer Care, etc.)
• Continually tweak and improve the design of existing products based on customer feedback

Your Profile

• 3+ years experience as a Product Designer or similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in product design (or industrial design or manufacturing design) or related discipline
• Highly creative and practical: your designs are both beautiful and functional
• Creativity in mixing up materials, colors, shapes, and techniques, as well as strong understanding of design for manufacturing
• A designer who sees how a product solution fits into a larger brand strategy
• Hands-on design: you not only sketch, but build physical prototypes
• Able to use a keen understanding of market trends and consumer preferences to identify opportunities for new products
• Passionate about creating delightful, thoughtful moments for the product user
• Experience with mattresses, beds, bedding, sleep products, furniture, soft home decor, wellness products, and related categories is a huge plus!
• Good knowledge of Illustrator, Sketch, CAD tools or 3D modeling software
• Attention to detail including excellent time management and organizational skills
• Adaptable, with hungry-to-grow mindset
• Resourceful, proactive, and a true team player
• Fluent in English
