About Hamlit
Hamlit is a Singapore-based pre-seed funded startup building driving assistance systems for two-wheelers with a mission to create a safer everyday ride for million of two-wheeler riders.
The problem we are solving
Motorcycles have been the mainstream mode of transportation for short commutes, especially in the Asian market. But motorcycles are more prone to life-threatening accidents. This is due to various factors, one such factor is the blindspot in the rider's view while switching lanes or turning. Blindspot contributes to major accidents in motorcycles.
We can't possibly turn our head more than 90 degrees in either direction, which means we can't see what's coming up behind us. With the impact of helmets, small rear mirrors, and high speed, a motorcycle has a huge blind spot.
Blindspot notifiers for cars have existed but have not seen translation to motorcycles for various reasons. We are developing a novel Radar-based blindspot notifier for motorcycle which is both robust and customizable, we use ML and Advanced image processing for accurate detection.
What you will work on
Job entails working on the Radar development board form TI (AWR1642) and developing hardware for blindspot detection. The job requires skillset like
(1) Experience with hardware design, debugging
(2) Embedded programming
(3) Basic knowledge in computer vision
(4) Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn new things.
Radar is going to be the future of major detection problems, a lot of industries are trying to establish proper Radar systems. It would be a great skillset to possess.
